How AI Categorization Works

Fintolly uses advanced Machine Learning (ML) models specifically trained on financial schemas to turn raw transaction descriptions into clean, understandable categories.

The Categorization Process

Text Normalization

We take messy descriptions like `UPI/ZOMATO/12345/FOOD` and clean them by removing unique transaction IDs and timestamps.

Contextual Mapping

The AI analyzes the cleaned text against our merchant database. `ZOMATO` is instantly mapped to the `Food & Dining` category.

Amount & Direction Analysis

The AI looks at whether the transaction is a Credit or Debit. A large recurring Credit might be labeled `Salary`, while a recurring Debit of the same amount might be `Rent` or `EMI`.

Privacy & Security Guarantee

Our AI model processes your data entirely in memory. This means your personal transactions are never used to train public AI models. We do not store your raw bank statements after processing, ensuring 100% compliance with financial privacy standards.
